In his brand new Travelocity TV campaign, the Roaming Gnome leaves the mundane behind to experience the Running of the Bulls in Pamplona, Spain, the joyful Holi Festival in India and other amazing travel destinations.

Cameras were rolling as the Travelocity Roaming Gnome and I roamed through some of the Disney Fantasy’s most awesome activities, like a spin through the AquaDuck and AquaLab, a Senses Spa massage, some Europa nightclubbing and a jaw-dropping fireworks show right off the ship.

Travelocity’s annual “Traveler Confidence Report” reveals a majority of consumers, 53 percent, plan to travel more in 2012 than they did in 2011 despite a lack of confidence in the state of the economy. Dear faithful readers of The Window Seat,
My time at Travelocity, and therefore The Window Seat, has come to an end. While I’m excited for the opportunities that lie ahead, I’m sad to go. The last four-plus years have been some of the happiest of my life. Travelocity is an outstanding place to work.
Over the next few months, you may see some changes on the blog. There will more guest writers and perhaps more from our dear friend the Roaming Gnome. You may see more company news and perhaps you’ll read more from our resident destination experts, the Travelocity market managers. Soon my replacement will be named and I know he or she will have some big ideas to make The Window Seat better than it’s ever been.
