I'm also trying to take Alison's approach and waiting until the last minute to book a trip to a budget-friendly location like Central America. My friends and I have been talking about a trip to Belize for diving, and a side trip to Mexico or Guatemala to see Mayan ruins. We're thinking late summer/early fall. Have you visited these locations? Any thoughts on the location or timing?
