All I want to know is when do I get to go to Cuba? Three cheers for the Obama administration for setting the stage for possible civilian travel to Cuba in the coming years. We're not there yet, well not unless you're a descendant with relatives in Cuba but hopefully the announcement this week on easing restrictions to Cuba will put American travelers on the path to visiting the historic country.
I want to go to Cuba, legally go to Cuba, in my lifetime. I'd like to see the people and hear their stories; witness the gritty streets and decaying but gorgeous architecture with my own eyes; I'd like to dance there until dawn and watch the sunrise on the beach with a Mojito in hand. Although Castro may think it's not enough and Cuban infrastructure needs work, I hope that tourism can be a bridge of understanding and that someday soon I'll get to be part of closing the divide between our two nations.

I am SO excited about this news. I am aching to go to Cuba. I have a friend who just went in Feb and had nothing but amazing things to say.
I think our administration working to open up these doors is fantastic. I'll definitely be keeping my eyes peeled for future progress in this area.

Wow, you really like to do alot in Cube from what you have described.
The Cathedral of Saint Christopher of Havana is beautiful. Not to mention the "Yank tank". Cheers.

I don't think you'll see it in your lifetime, personally. No president will have the guts to anger the Cuban-Americans in Florida who hate the Castros and want the embargo to continue because of their strong anti-Communist stance. They'll vote against whomever tries to end it, and as we've seen in the past, Florida's electoral votes are important.
