Earlier this week, the New York Times published their list of The 31 Places to Go in 2010 and I devoured it instantly. It's not that I need any help deciding where to travel---I've got a list as long as my arm---but rather that I love finding out where other people are traveling, and why. That said, the story was packed with inspiration---Damascus, anyone? Gargano? Macedonia?---and that arm-sized list I mentioned is now....well, as long as both of my arms. And maybe a leg too.
So where are you going in 2010? Do you have any trips planned yet? I've got a quick visit to Lake Tahoe looming, ten days back in my mother country (England), and a huge, overarching desire to make it to India by the end of the year and check that life goal off my list. Sprinkled in there are various quick trips, including a jaunt to New York in August and a few days in Holland, Michigan to see the famous Tulip Time festival.
What about you? Any great trips on the horizon? And would the New York Times approve?

Holly,
Over the last year I've become a surfer so the many coastlines of the world are on my radar. I'm hoping to make a trip to Costa Rica at some point in the next year. Hopefully budget will allow it.

This year I'm going to Mexico for the first time (the central part--not the beaches) and Hawaii.
I may also swing by Portland, New York, and Chicago.
And I've got one more big trip looming. Perhaps Central Europe? That's the leading contender at the moment.

Our annual trip to Moab, Utah, is here! We will be spending a weekend enjoying the red rock of the desert and playing as hard as we can! Mountain biking, hiking, rock crawling, camping, and so much more! This truly is one of the most beautiful times to be in the desert.aresvista.com

The plan this year was to go to Croatia and Spain, but it doesn't look like that will happen. Instead, we'll probably go somewhere in Asia (living in Japan makes it easy to do), and then back to the Bay Area over the summer. We might go up to Yosemite this year, as my husband has never been. Last year our big trip was to Taiwan - I'd like to go back there, but there are so many other places to go first!

I have a hectic schedule for the next few months with at least 6 overseas Business trips that each have multiple stopovers, I love travel but wish I has more time for recreation travel rather than the business type

I just got back from Japan and have planned a trip to San Diego for next week. After that, I'm going to the British Virgin Islands in May. I'd love to cross off Spain, Morocco and Malaysia before the year is up too.

We live in Vienna, Austria, so are constantly looking for weekend getaways (planning these once a month). January was a ski weekend in Schladming. February also skiing - in Bad Aussee. Maybe more skiing in March? Or Prague. One of those things. We are definitely putting the finishing touches to a trip planned for Rome in April. After that we have to work out a schedule. Any weekend away recommendations?
